I’m finally sharing my latest quilt! Made for a little man who’s going to be here any day now!
Two of my five lovely sisters – this two both happened to be in town at the same time. We took a few minutes to step outside and take a few photos of them – both wearing t-shirts tie-dyed by the older sister in the picture… as a very belated birthday gift for the lil’ one! They’re so sweet together! Now I just need to figure out how to get the other three in front of the camera. : )
New fabric for my next new project. = )
It’s in the washer right now… because, you know, I’m always good and pre-wash my fabric. Always. Well, most always… But always always when it’s a project for someone else. Because I’m paranoid it will shrink and be ruined after the first time they wash it, and this way I don’t have to think about it. “Excellence is not a stop on the path to perfection.”
I don’t remember the name of the man that said this, but I can’t take credit for it. It’s a reminder I need often, so I thought I’d share it here.
Perfection seems so tempting a goal… but it’s unattainable. Sometimes I don’t cut myself enough slack. Whatever you do, you can do it with excellence. And doing things with excellence isn’t just a rung on the ladder to perfection – it’s the ultimate goal. If perfection is the goal, and excellence just a stop along the way, you’ll never live up. Strive for excellence. Be content with the results, and the fact that you gave your best. Always.
