Have I really not posted here since last December? Almost a year ago! Well, it’s been a whirlwind of a year! Hoping to hang out here on the blog more often in 2015! : ) But before 2014 slips away completely…. I want to share these awesome beanies that my sister has made.
My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was around 7 years old. She used to watch us during the day after school while my mom was at work (before she transitioned to stay at home with us). Two of my five lovely sisters – this two both happened to be in town at the same time. We took a few minutes to step outside and take a few photos of them – both wearing t-shirts tie-dyed by the older sister in the picture… as a very belated birthday gift for the lil’ one! They’re so sweet together! Now I just need to figure out how to get the other three in front of the camera. : )
Something unexpected happened this year. Something that hurt every member of my family in some way. Something that changed the course of all our plans, and made each of us face things we never wanted or imagined. Something that brought us closer together in some ways, and made us each reflect on our own hearts and lives in different ways.
I turned a mile-stone birthday this year. Thirty. I’ve only said it aloud once, and it felt really weird. I know, I know. I’m not that old, you say. But I’m not where I thought I would be, where I wanted to be, at this age. Continue reading
During one of my trips visiting my family in Nebraska this year or last year, my dear loving mother introduced me to Great Harvest Bread Company. I believe it was the pumpkin-chocolate-chip bread, to be specific. I’d heard the name before because there are a few stores here in St. Louis, I just had never been in one or tasted their wares.
So I made a point to check out our local stores, I think we have three all together. The Kirkwood store is about 15 minutes from where I work so that’s the one I frequent most often.
