Where have I been?

On the sunny beaches of Florida! – We took a road trip and joined my family for a week in Laguna Beach. It’s a 14 hour drive from where we live,

so we saw a lot of this…

And some of this…

On our way we stopped here…

So my husband could do this….   🙂

Like a kid in a candy shop!

Then we got to see lots of this!

And some of this…

We stayed in a pink house…

From which we saw many pretty sunsets…

The water leaves wavy designs on the sand…

And pelicans fly by!

They’re fast, though…

We always like to seek out the special-to-the area local places when we’re on vacation. We found this gem the first day and went back several times!

They have great burgers!

And cheese fries!

But it’s the donuts we love! : )

And they come in pink boxes!

Which makes this little girl very happy indeed!

We spent one afternoon shopping at the local outdoor mall with some of my sisters. It was a bit surreal… walking around in shorts and flip-flops in the middle of November… sun shining, ocean waves in the background… Christmas music playing on the outdoor speakers…. Christmas music?? What??

I love my sisters! They’re so fun! (And I do mean all five of them, not just these two)

And this little guy… his name is Boris… there’s a story behind Boris, but I don’t want you all to think we’re completely insane, so just suffice it to say… uh, well, Boris is a finger-puppet. Yeah, that’s good.

We also celebrated a very special day!

Two years together! 🙂

Got some very cool photos from the pier one night, right before and after sunset. It was a lot of fun for me to play around with long exposures. These are just a few!

After 7 wonderful days, we packed up and went back home… my family left the next day, so they all waved goodbye from the balcony!

There’s so much more to tell… about the classic cars we saw because of the convention in town, how we walked 4 miles down the beach and then got a ride back, resulting in a very one-sided sun tan (OK, burn)…. and just laughing and playing cards and watching movies with my siblings. So much fun! We came back home to much cooler temps and horizontal rain. Not good driving weather, but we made it back in one piece.

I can’t believe tomorrow is already Thanksgiving! So crazy how time flies! I’ve started working on several more craft/sewing projects, but I won’t be able to show you completed ones in a while as they are mostly Christmas gifts! Maybe I’ll share just a few little sneak peeks… For now, have a happy Thanksgiving!

You see beauty in everywhere, you make simple every day things seem special and interesting, and you truly enjoy your Family! I am thankful for your friendship and that I get to learn from you to love God, life, people, pretty fabric even if I have no idea what to do with it, smell of fresh baked cookies, long car rides, sunsets and so many things that life gives us freely…

Living Richly sometimes does not cost that much after all.
