Oh, how I love ruffles!
I made some pretty ruffles last weekend for a friend who needed a little valance for a basement window.
I found these red and aqua fabrics in my stash waiting to be made into something pretty. Perfect.
These ruffles were made by cutting 1.5″ strips, the strips were then given rolled-hem edges on both sides with my serger. I love how this looks! And while my poor old serger almost had a heart-attack while I was serging both sides of 5 yards of ruffle… it still did a pretty good job, I think! And it still took less time than hemming the edges. I think the ruffles get rufflier this way too.
Today I’m working on projects for an upcoming baby shower I’m helping to put together. It’s too hot here to do much outside on this 4th of July! Maybe I’ll have more photos to share later. 🙂
